INTRODUCTION


Apologies from members were received from Sir Robert Fulton, Sue Sauter and Chaz Timms.


New member of the branch was Leslie Lockwood and was introduced by Mike Pinchen.


We also had a guest of Terrence Day a certain Lord Rogan from the House of Lords. A former Colonel of Ulster Signals Regt and patron of the Somme Association, big supporter of the Armed Forces. He was warmly welcomed by myself into the meeting.


RECENT EVENTS


  • 23rd of April - Zeebrugge bell ringing ceremony at Dover Council.

  • 26th & 27th of April - Zeebrugge remembrance weekend all went very successfully.

  • Sunday 11th May - Graspan parade took place.

  • 5th - 8th June - Normandy Trip took place. See the write up by Mike Russell HERE.


FUTURE EVENTS


  • Tuesday 24th June - Armed Forces Flag raising day at the London Guildhall.

  • Saturday, the 12th of July - Annual Belgium Cenotaph parade. Names to Stephen Gilkes stephen.gilkes@googlemail.com

  • Friday 29th Aug or Friday 5th Sept are being put aside for a personal tour of the Chelsea Hospital by our very own branch member Andy Lee. Names to Tom Frearson tom@befearsome.com

  • Friday, the 19th of September - Branch BBQ on board HMS President. Donations for this event are for members £25pp and £30pp for invited guests. Names to Stephen Gilkes stephen.gilkes@googlemail.com

  • 19th July: Thames River Walk -Sarting from Eaton And Windsor Station for a 10km steady walk. Final point for some lunch TBC. All welcome - Names to  Tom Frearson tom@befearsomn.com 


WELFARE


  • Sadly Peter Brown was readmitted to hospital after the Armed Forces Flag Raising Day. Frank Butler along with Jan Migliozzi are keeping in touch with him. Polly

  • Mick Wakeham’s step daughter, Daisy, is now out of hospital and is recovering at home. May we please keep Mick’s son, Sam in your thoughts and he is being investigated for the same issue.

  • Colin Ash is now back at home after suffering a fall and doing damage to his rib cage.
