Good Bye Summer !

Welcome to October’s newsletter and if you are like me, question yourself, where on earth did the summer go! Our annual branch BBQ at RMR London was a resounding success. Paul Keefe gave a fascinating insight to the Zeebrugge raid and he also highlighted the local London sailor, Albert McKenzie, who was awarded a VC for his actions on the mole. Presentations were made to the SNCO’s mess, by both David Griffin (Chelsea Pensioner) and Paul Harvey (RMA Portsmouth) to WO2 Mark Rose, Unit Sgt Major, who kindly and graciously accepted them. See attached photos. The branch spirit shone through the evening along with the ‘wets’ being poured and dit’s once more being spun. It was good to experience a somewhat normal atmosphere, after some 18 months in COVID lockdowns.....
